The Hospice at May Court Model

This document describes the model of The Hospice at May Court

Our model has evolved over the years as we have gained experience. The Hospice at May Court was one of the first hospice home visiting programs (founded in 1987) and residential hospices (opened in 1991) in Ontario. We are currently the only full-service hospice in Ottawa.

We have developed this document based on our 25 years of experience in order to offer a model for the expansion of hospice services in the Ottawa region. We offer our model in the hope that it will provide guidance to all the organizations with which we work in partnership to enhance service for the Ottawa community. We also hope that this description of our model may assist new and emerging hospices in other regions which have contacted us frequently in recent years for advice and information.
